Welcome to Martin Bailey Music (MBM = EmBeEm)

As a successful professional photographer, sharing my music and thoughts on the creative aspects of music via this site is a huge step outside of my comfort zone.

My plan for the MBM website is to share my music and thoughts as I learn to create music, mostly with MIDI instruments and a digital audio workstation (DAW).

Please don’t think I’m positioning myself as a budding musician here though. I’m a photographer, and I absolutely love the life that I’ve made for myself in photography. You can learn about that side of me on the Martin Bailey Photography website. But making music has been a passion of mine for many years. I was in a band in my late teens, more than thirty years ago now, and I’ve superficially learned a number of instruments over the years, but never really mastered any of them.

As confident as I am sharing my photography knowledge I’m mostly a complete novice when it comes to making music, and that makes me incredibly vulnerable as a creative, but that’s the whole point of creating this webiste. I think that being open and vulnerable helps us to grow in any creative pursuit, so just as I grew my ongoing passion for photography into a successful business, partly by sharing my journey, this is my journey as a musician.
